 | MEDICOcorps is the volunteer connection for MEDICO. MEDICO began in 1990 with a vision and a mission to serve
impoverished people in developing countries,
providing them with medical, dental, optometric
and health education. Through self-financed volunteerism MEDICO achieves
this goal providing care for over 143,500 patients since
its inception. The passion and drive of our volunteers is
self-evident. Well over 2,000 volunteers have shared in
this vision of care through participation on a field team,
to financial support, through gifts in kind, through
warehouse volunteers. MEDICO is the quiet humanitarian
outreach making a big impact on the lives of our
precious neighbors in Central America.  |  MEDICOcorps is people helping people 
MEDICO began with the vision of Co-Founders Lynda and Norm Peters,
Jim Durham, and Marian and David Flowers. Their passion for serving
others, particularly the indigenous populations of Honduras, began a
16-year journey of hope. With this dedication to provide the very best care
where little to no care is available, they have transformed the lives of
multiple thousands of people. |
